How did you start card making and/or scrapbooking?

I started scrapbooking in the autumn of 1998, officially. My first album would be rather embarrassing now. Along with my second and my third. I think I finally caught a groove around album number four. I've been scrapping and generally making stuff ever since, but I've never been so in love with scrapbooking as I am right now. I love where the industry is right now and I love where my stories are going on paper. It's a very happy union in my creative zone at the moment! Loving it.

What would you say defines your style?

My style is certainly one with an ongoing evolution. I've gone through phases of extremes with graphic and collaged styles coming from my youthful work in print design and my teenage love of art journals. Somewhere along that line I found a happy medium, but my style keeps evolving. I hope it means my style likes to try something new, something unconventional or even something radically classic but with a twist. I love colour, dimension and layering. I love for work to be tangible, and I actually look at my own albums and minibooks regularly because I honestly enjoy taking in the little details. I like for there to be something new to see the second time you look at something. And I like it to be very, very happy.

What tends to be the focus of your scrapping?

I'm a scrapper who breaks with tradition, as I don't have children to scrapbook. My scrapbooks tell the stories of my own existence, so sometimes you'll see photos of my friends and family (and when he's not playing shy, The Boy) but other times you'll see photos of places and things...I love travel and I love home so both of those things are pretty obvious in my albums.? My focus is always on the story, whether that be in words or photos. Quite often both. And quite often the story isn't fully evident in just one layout. I like my albums to be books in their own right and develop from page to page!

What is your favourite dessert?

Cupcakes. Of course. Only they are not just a dessert. Like all good desserts, they may become a snack at any time or indeed, a main meal. I also have a fondness for a good tiramisu, but only if a good cupcake is not readily available.
